- 1 fryer chicken
- 1 lemon, cut in half
- 4-6 fresh sage leaves and steams
- 6 garlic cloves, peeled
- salt/pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
Rinse chicken in cold water then pat dry, removing gizzards. Spray crock-pot with cooking spray. Sprinkle salt and pepper inside the chicken cavity. Place sage, garlic cloves, and lemon halves inside the chicken cavity. Place chicken into the crock-pot. Sprinkle salt, chili powder, and pepper on top of chicken. Place lid on the crock-pot and cook on low for 9 -10 hours.
Way 1: When the chicken is cooked, you can serve the chicken legs, thighs, and wings for dinner.
Way 2: Then shred or chop the breasts, and all the other meat you can get off the bone, for another recipe later in the week.
Tip: Throw some potatoes, carrots, onions, and cubed squash into the pot to be ready at supper time.
